AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE WITH REGARDS TO HEARING OFFICERS

Body

WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park (the “Village”) have the authority to adopt ordinances and to promulgate rules and regulations that pertain to its government and affairs and protect the public health, safety, and welfare of its citizens; and

WHEREAS, the Village may pass all ordinances and make all rules and regulations proper or necessary, and to carry into effect the powers granted to municipalities; and

WHEREAS, the Village has from time to time established various boards and commissions in order to promote the effective and efficient operation of local government; and

WHEREAS, from time to time, the Village has evaluated the continuing necessity and functionality of its boards and commissions; and

WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park have considered and approved amendments to the Land Development Code that reassign the duties of the Hearing Officer(s) and have eliminated the utility of the role.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, and pursuant to its home rule powers, as follows:

SECTION 1

The above recitals are incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth herein.

SECTION 2

Title 2, Chapter 10 (Hearing Officer), of the Orland Park Village Code is hereby deleted in its entirety.

SECTION 3

All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

SECTION 4

If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such decision or decisions shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in pamphlet form as provided ...
