Title
183rd Street and Wolf Road Intersection Watermain Design Engineering - Proposal
History
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is moving forward with traffic signal installation and improvements at the intersection of 183rd Street and Wolf Road. It is currently in Phase I Engineering with construction anticipated in 2011.
The Village’s water system currently has gaps at the intersection resulting in several “dead-end” sections of watermain. To take advantage of the proposed construction at the intersection, the Village has requested that IDOT add the watermain extension to their proposed work. The engineering and construction of the watermain would be paid by the Village but construction would be coordinated as part of the overall improvement project.
McDonough Associates Inc. (MAI) of Chicago, Illinois, has previously completed the engineering for the 183rd Street (Orland Parkway) extension and they are very familiar with the intersection. A proposal was requested and obtained from MAI for design engineering and construction oversight services. The cost of this work as proposed by MAI is $18,160.
On July 6, 2010, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
INFORMATION PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED AS PART OF THE JULY 6, 2010, PUBLIC WORKS AND ENGINEERING COMMITTEE PACKET.
