History

On July 11, 2007, the Parks Department opened bids for the 50/50 Tree Purchase and Planting Program.  Mid America Tree and Landscape, Inc. of Mokena, Illinois, was the low bidder for 3” caliper trees at $250 per tree each year for three (3) years - 2008, 2009 and 2010.

 

Mid America has agreed to provide and plant trees at the same cost for the Public Works Right-of-Way and Stormwater Tree Planting Program sites.

 

On November 12, 2007, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

 

Financial Impact

The 2007/08 Fiscal Year Budget has Board approved Line Item 054-0000-499-4350 in the amount of $15,000 for the installation of trees in the right of way.  In addition, the 2007/2008 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved Line Item 031-6007-433-4350 in the amount of $25,000 for the installation of trees around Village-owned stormwater sites.

 

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to approve accepting the bid from Mid America Tree and Landscape, Inc., of Mokena, Illinois, for the Public Works Right-of-Way and Stormwater Tree Planting Program sites at $250 per tree for fiscal years 2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 for a total cost not to exceed the Board approved budgeted amount;

 

and

 

To approve authorizing the Acting Village Manager to execute the contract.
