Replacement Vehicle for Unit #1413 - Approval
History
On June 28, 2007 Unit #1413 was involved in a vehicular accident. The vehicle was a total loss. We were not the at fault party in this incident.
The Police Department would like to replace this vehicle as soon as possible. The Police Department is requesting to replace this vehicle with funds from the Village's Insurance Fund Account. This vehicle is a 2005 Chevrolet Impala Police Interceptor and would be replaced with one (1) new 2007 Chevrolet Impala Police Interceptor.
The purchase price for this vehicle would be approximately $18,928.86, plus approximately $6,602. for the cost of the change-over, lettering and striping, computer parts and damaged vehicle parts for a total cost not to exceed $25,530.86. We have not received any monies from the striking vehicles insurance comapany as of this date.
This vehicle would be purchased from Miles Chevrolet in Decatur, Il. They are the Chevrolet Dealership with the State of Illinois purchase contract, TX # 217-872-2070. Miles Chevrolet has this vehicle in stock and we can purchase it immediately.
At the 8-13-07 Police and Public Safety Committee Meeting, the members voted 3-0 to recommend approval.
Financial Impact
The Police Department is requesting to replace this vehicle with funds from the Village's Insurance Fund Account #092-0000-499-52.11 at a cost not to exceed $25,530.86.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the transfer of funds from the Village Insurance Fund in the amount of $25,530.86 to cover the cost to purchase one 2007 Chevrolet Impala Police Interceptor vehicle to replace Unit #1413 from Miles Chevrolet of Decatur, Illinois.
