History
The petitioner, Ted Golden, Chief of Mokena Fire Protection District, is requesting to construct a new 10,700 square foot fire station at approximately the southwest corner of 183rd Street and Orland Parkway in the I-80 corridor (Will County).

On February 24, 2009 the Plan Commission moved 5-0 to recommend to the Village Board of Trustees, approval of the subdivision of a 2.0 acre parcel defined by the legal description entitled “Proposed Fire Station Legal Description” on the topographic survey entitled “Topographic Survey”, prepared by B&G Survey Company, Inc., ordered by Sinnott Engineering, job number 1084247, dated August 15, 2008, signed by Kevin M. Westerkamp, Illinois Professional Land Surveyor No. 2643, received on August 18, 2008 subject to annexation.

Moved to recommend to the Village Board of Trustees, approval to rezone the subject property defined in the above-cited legal description from E-1 Estate Residential to ORI Mixed Use subject to annexation.

Moved to recommend to the Village Board of Trustees, approval of the Site Plan entitled “Proposed Prelim Site Plan Mokena Fire Station”, prepared by Arete 3 Design Group, job number 08051, Sheet SP-1, dated 4-22-08, last revised 2-17-09, and the elevations entitled “Proposed Elevations Mokena Fire Station”, prepared by Arete 3 Design Group, same job number, Sheet EL-1, dated 5-15-08, last revised 2-17-09, subject to annexation and following conditions: (1) that a bicycle parking rack is included on the Site Plan near the main public entrance to the fire station; (2) that the Landscape Plan provide increased screening along the rear of the east buffer yard to screen the rear of the fire station building, generator enclosure and garbage enclosure; (3) that the petitioner and the neighboring proposed church work with each other in order to optimize the storm...
