Computer Equipment Purchase - Purchase Approval
History
As outlined in the attached spreadsheet, several departments need to have computers replaced this fiscal year and were included in the FY 2008-09 budget. All budgeted equipment was consolidated into one purchase as to receive the best possible price. Gateway computers were specified because they work very well with our existing systems, come with a three-year warrantee and are very competitively priced with other business class computers. We have purchased Gateway computers over the past several years and are very pleased with their performance and Gateway support.
The total combined budgeted amount for all the computers is $31,500. The Village is eligible for local government pricing from Gateway, under contract # MHEC 05PRH22515, which is the lowest possible price. The total cost under this contract is $30,467.
Financial Impact
Total amount budgeted for replacement computers is $31,500. This expenditure is $1,033 under the requested budget amount.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move approve waiving the bid process and to purchase 20 computers from Gateway at a cost not to exceed $30,467.
