Proposed Amendment for Referendum Question - Resolution
History
Currently the Village of Orland Park has no term limits. This referendum would enact that the offices of Village President, Village Trustee and Village Clerk be limited to serve no more than three (3) full four (4) year terms in the same office.
On October 15, 2018, a resolution was presented and postponed by the Village Board.
Three resolutions are now being presented to the Board for review and approval.
SHALL THE TERMS OF OFFICE FOR THOSE PERSONS ELECTED TO THE OFFICE OF VILLAGE TRUSTEE IN THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK AT THE APRIL 2, 2019, CONSOLIDATED ELECTION AND AT EACH ELECTION FOR THE OFFICES OF VILLAGE PRESIDENT, VILLAGE TRUSTEE AND VILLAGE CLERK THEREAFTER, BE LIMITED SUCH THAT NO PERSON SO ELECTED MAY SERVE MORE THAN THREE (3) FULL FOUR (4) YEAR TERMS IN THE SAME OFFICE?
I move to pass Resolution Number___________, entitled: A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT, VILLAGE TRUSTEES AND VILLAGE CLERK SHOULD BE LIMITED IN NUMBER
