ORDINANCE DEDICATING RIGHT-OF-WAY AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND RECORDING OF PLAT OF DEDICATION (143rd STREET AND JOHN HUMPHREY DRIVE)

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park has acquired, by deeds, certain rights-of-way along the south side of 143rd Street and along John Humphrey Drive immediately south of 143rd Street, said rights-of-way being more fully described by the Legal Description attached hereto as EXHIBIT 1; and
WHEREAS, the Village is currently engaged in a project to improve safety and traffic flow at the 143rd and John Humphrey Drive intersection by adding additional turn lanes, traffic signal improvements, lighting improvements, ADA and other pedestrian improvements, as well as bridge repair and expansion. This project will improve traffic flows and safety in all four directions, as well as improve economic activity in the overall area. The project will require the dedication of additional land as rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, in order to more fully define such rights-of-way and to cause the rights-of-way described on EXHIBIT 1 to be removed from the real estate tax assessment rolls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
The real estate described on the Legal Description attached hereto as EXHIBIT 1 is hereby dedicated as right-of-way for roadway purposes by the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, being the sole fee simple owner of said real estate.
SECTION 2
The Village President and Village Clerk of the Village of Orland Park be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Plat of Dedication on behalf of the Village when prepared.
SECTION 3
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage as provided by law.
