History

A resident contacted the Village pertaining to safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians due to the overall traffic and speeding vehicles along 144^th Street.  According to the resident, there has been 3 recent accidents, two that were almost fatal including a motorist hitting a new telephone pole.  The car missed hitting the resident’s house by only 50 feet.  Cars drive so fast down 144^th Street to avoid Southwest Highway.  Late at night, it has been observed that cars avoid the main roads and speed through the area after Irish Patriot closes.

The resident is requesting the conversion of 144^th Street between West Avenue and Beacon Avenue from a two-way street to a one-way street running west to east. Currently 144^th Place in a one-way street running east to west.
