PROJECT DESCRIPTION & CONTEXT
Per Section 6-209. of the Land Development Code, in the Old Orland Historic District, for new and replacement roofs, the following should be avoided: hand split wood shakes, asphalt shingles with rough, thick texture made to replicate shakes, clay or synthetic tile, slate, synthetic slate and asphalt shingles in the color of new wood. Code also states that gutters should be of a compatible profile and material.
The petitioner is proposing to install a new roof on the house. The existing color of the roof is brown in color and will be changing to the new proposed shingle color of Charcoal. Overall, the project conforms to the Village’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Code, and policies for this area.
