Title
Four-Way Stop Signs
(Padre Lane and Louetta Lane)
History
Many residents who reside in the Eagle Ridge III subdivision contacted PTAC with safety concerns due to most motorists ignoring the yield signs on northbound and southbound Padre Lane and speeding through the intersection of Padre Lane and Louetta Lane. According to one of the residents, this type of driving behavior, which occurs on a daily basis, have caused numerous traffic accidents per year.
An accident occurred on August 28, 2024 with one vehicle flipping over on its backside and one landing in a front yard. Both drivers were uninjured and refused medical services. According to one of the residents, speeding vehicles have been an issue in the subdivision for over 20 years and they have personally witnessed many close call collisions at this intersection.
There are trees and winding angles where these streets intersect creating many blind spots for drivers. This intersection is a school bus stop for both Sandburg and District 135. There are drivers cutting through the Eagle Ridge subdivision to get to the Mission Hills subdivision.
One of the residents was involved in an accident at this intersection being struck from another vehicle causing $10,000 damage to their car.
Residents of this subdivision are requesting four-way stop signs at the intersection of Padre Lane and Louetta Lane or at least replace the yield signs to stop signs on northbound and southbound Padre Lane. One requestor would like stop signs installed throughout the entire Eagle Ridge III subdivision due to a car involved in the August 28th rollover-crash collision landing in their front yard a few feet away from the front door, which was captured on a Ring Doorbell video. Another requestor is asking for the consideration of installing speed bumps throughout the subdivision.
