167th Street Multi-Use Path, Steeplechase Parkway to 104th Street, Phase II - Final Design Engineering Services, Contract Amendment #1, Change Order #4 and Addendum D
History
The Engineering Department is working on the Phase II design of the 167th Street Multi-Use Path. The path will complete a major east-west corridor in the Village's multi-use path network. The limits of the project are Steeplechase Parkway (entrance to the Grasslands Subdivision) east to 104th Avenue (northwest corner of the Orland Grasslands). The path will also connect to the recently completed 104th Avenue Multi-Use Path.
The Village's consultant, Civiltech Engineering, Inc., is currently working to obtain the necessary right-of-way agreements and appraisals. The construction is scheduled for late 2026.
As the project advanced through Phase II design, additional scope items are needed to complete the design and meet requirements from relevant government agencies, including Cook County Department of Transportation (CCDoTH) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The estimated cost for the additional engineering services listed below is $84,339.70.

- Addition of Fiber Optic Conduits
- Steeplechase Parkway Revisions
- Bridge Bat Assessment
- Wetland Delineation Update
- Additional ADA Landings
Financial Impact
The Village approved $80,000 in the FY2025 Capital Improvement Project Budget for this contract amendment. The remaining balance of $4,339.70 will be paid from the Engineering Budget.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve and authorize the execution of Contract Amendment #1, Change Order #4 and Addendum D to the Professional Services Agreement dated August 19, 2021 with Civiltech Engineering, Inc. of Itasca, Illinois for the 167th Street Multi-Use Path, Steeplechase Parkway to 104th Avenue, to increase the total not-to-exceed contract amount by $84,339.70 to $334,328.70 for the work outlined in...
