History

A resident contacted PTAC pertaining to safety concerns due to vehicles speeding at multiple locations - westbound on 157th Street to 86th Avenue, westbound on Nancy Lane to Orlan Brook Drive, and 80th Avenue and 159th Street intersection.  It was stated that multiple car collisions occur on a monthly basis and there is also an overload of road kill observed on roadways.

The resident is requesting the following in an effort to reduce the amount of speeding offenders.

1.  Increase the number of speed limit signs

2.  Decrease the speed limit

3.  Increase police presence for traffic violations

4.  Remove yellow light from the traffic signal sequence

5.  Install duck and other animal crossing signs on Orlan Brook Drive due to the ponds

This matter was tabled at the June 5, 2025 PTAC Meeting so that the Orland Park Police Department can conduct a traffic detail on 80^th Avenue.
