Title

New Traffic Signal Light

(Southwest Highway and Will-Cook Road)

History

A resident contacted PTAC pertaining to traffic safety concerns due to vehicles traveling 55+ mph along Southwest Highway (Route 6).  According to the resident, a subdivision will be developed with over 800 homes at the intersection of Cedar Road and W Chicago Bloomington Trail, and concerned that the increased traffic will make the intersection of Southwest Highway and Will-Cook Road much more dangerous.

The resident requested a new traffic light at the intersection of Southwest Highway and Will-Cook Road.

An additional request was to trim the overgrown trees, shrubs and weeds along Southwest Highway that obstruct the view of oncoming traffic traveling eastbound when motorists are attempting to make a left-hand turn at Will-Cook Road to head eastbound on Southwest Highway.
