Title
Radar Speed Display Device
(Alpine Drive and Timber Edge Drive)
History
A resident contacted PTAC pertaining to safety concerns due to vehicles traveling 40-50 mph throughout the Arbor Pointe subdivision, which consists of 80 homes, especially on Timber Edge Lane. This roadway connects to Arbor Drive (the east entrance) and Alpine Drive (the west or Will-Cook Road entrance). They also noted that the back of the subdivision does not have sidewalks.
According to the resident, speeding occurs throughout the day, but most frequently between 3-5 pm. The resident has witnessed vehicles coming within a couple of feet of hitting pedestrians due to excessive speeding when coming around the turn onto Timber Edge Lane. Also stated, is that police presence is low, but when officers are present, they are focused on using a radar to monitor the cars on 151 Street.
The resident is requesting a radar speed display device at the corner of Alpine Drive and Timber Edge Lane facing northbound on Alpine Drive. It was stated that Alpine Drive is where majority of the people enter the subdivision and make a fast turn onto Timber Edge Lane heading eastbound.
