A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ILLINOIS AND THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR 143RD STREET WIDENING PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park desires to implement a project to widen and reconstruct 143rd Street from Highland Avenue to Southwest Highway, a project known to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) under Section Number 14-00072-01-CH and State Job Number C-91-003-27; and
WHEREAS, the Construction cost of said improvement is estimated to total twenty one million seven hundred thousand dollars ($21,700,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park received one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000.00) in Surface Transportation Program (STP) federal funding, seven million ($7,000,000.00) in Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS), and ten million ($10,000,000.00) in funding from IDOT for the construction of the improvement, with the Village responsible for the remaining three million two hundred thousand ($3,200,000.00) and any costs exceeding the federal participation; and
WHEREAS, the Construction Engineering cost of said improvement is estimated to total three million dollars ($3,000,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park received one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000.00) in Surface Transportation Program (STP) federal funding for the construction engineering of the improvement, with the Village responsible for the remaining one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000.00) and any costs exceeding the federal participation; and
WHEREAS, the use of federal and state funds requires a joint funding agreement (hereinafter “AGREEMENT”) with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Orland Park hereby appropriates four million seven hundred thousand ($4,700,000.00) for the local balance of Construction and Construction Engineering costs for the completion of the aforementioned project kno...
