RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION BY THE VILLAGE FOR ILLINOIS TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR THE MCGINNIS SLOUGH MULTI-USE PATH

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park will be applying to the Illinois Department of Transportation for an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Grant to construct the McGinnis Slough multi-use path through the Commonwealth Edison easement from LaGrange Road to Wolf Road (the “Project”); and
WHEREAS, the Construction cost of said improvement is estimated to total four million four hundred twenty thousand dollars ($4,420,000.00) and the Construction Engineering cost of said improvement is estimated to total four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park has previously been awarded one million two hundred and four thousand dollars ($1,204,000.00) for construction and two hundred ninety-six thousand ($296,000) for construction engineering from the Surface Transportation Program (STP) federal funding for the construction of the improvement; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park desires to apply for an ITEP grant in the amount of two million three hundred ninety-six thousand dollars ($2,396,000.00) for construction and construction engineering of the Project, which together with the previously awarded STP funds, would provide federal funding up to the maximum federal participation of eighty percent (80%) of eligible construction and construction engineering costs of the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park commits to being responsible for payment of any required matching funds and any ineligible or other costs associated with the Project, as determined by the Illinois Department of Transportation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Orland Park hereby authorizes the submission of an application to the Illinois Department of Transportation for Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) funding in the amount of two m...
