PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The petitioner is proposing to stain the front, side (north-facing), and rear of the building white, using the stain Sherwin Williams Satin Extra White. They are also proposing to paint the gutters/downspouts and rear door black/dark gray.
They also plan to re-paint the roof to match the existing color. The mansard roof will be painted dark gray. The paint chosen for the roof is Sherwin Willaims Iron Ore (SW 7069).
PLANNING DISCUSSION
The existing commercial building is comparatively dated in design. This work will update its appearance with a contemporary color scheme. Exterior elements are being painted to match the color of the existing roof.
The Village typically recommends staining brick rather than painting to maintain the breathability of the masonry. This work is consistent with that recommendation.
