PLANNING OVERVIEW

Verizon is proposing to remove three antennas and install eight antennas on the existing lattice tower at the Parks and Recreation Building at 14600 Ravinia Avenue. Currently, the tower is utilized by the Village of Orland Park Police Department to house the antennas required to support their daily operations. The tower was constructed in 2009 as a replacement to the former lattice tower and was designed to accommodate more communications equipment related to Police functions and public safety. The tower is approximately 172’ tall, measured from the ground to the top of the structure (lightning rod). The new antennas will be mounted to the existing steel frame. Four smaller antennas are to be installed closest to the mounting site while four larger antennas will be installed adjacent to them. The antennas will not adversely impact the appearance of the tower and will not substantially increase its height or size.

The petitioner is proposing performing the following scope of work:

•                     Remove (3) Antennas

•                     Install (4) Vectastar 39GHZ GNB Antennas

•                     Install (4) SFP-10GE-10GBase-LR Antennas
