OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND
According to the 2008 Residential Area Intensive Survey (RAI), the single-family house was
constructed circa 1910 and is in good condition with low integrity. The building features the
National Gable Front architectural style. Synthetic siding, replacement windows, multiple
additions to each side of the house and interior chimney are the alterations listed on the RAI Survey.
The building is considered a Non-Contributing Structure to the Old Orland Historic District per Section 6-209 of the Land Development Code.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & CONTEXT
The petitioner proposes to replace exterior doors to the garage and basement, and two patio doors. The application indicates the color of the proposed doors. The exterior doors to the garage and basement are fiberglass doors, and the patio doors are vinyl.
Per Section 6-209.G., changes to doors are considered a minor change, which requires an administrative Certificate of Appropriateness review for Non-Contributing Structures in the OOH District.
Overall, the project conforms to the Village’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Codes and policies for this area.
Recommended Action/Motion
The Certificate of Appropriateness to replace the existing Basement, Garage, and Patio Doors at 14414 First Avenue, as depicted on the scope of work submitted by the petitioner, was administratively approved on September 3rd, 2024, subject to the following conditions:
1) Meet all Building and Land Development Code requirements.
2) Obtain a building permit prior to construction.
