Planning Overview

The petitioner proposes to install 10 electric vehicle supply equipment stations (EVSE) for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) parking spaces in the front parking lot of 11351 183rd Street, specifically at the western side of the lot closest to the building. A row of 10 EVSE’s will reduce the total number of vehicle parking spaces from  to 37 to 27, however, the parking for this site is legal non-conforming and is not expected to have any parking shortages. Per Section 6-306.N.1.e, V2G parking spaces may be used by regular automobiles if no other parking spaces are available. Additionally, the Applicant could restripe the rear outdoor storage area to add additional parking if the overall parking demand increases at the site.

Mechanicals/Utility Conduits

Per the Land Development Code, "All associated and ancillary equipment, batteries, devices, structures or support(s) for EVSE shall be screened from the public right-of-way with low native landscaping. Cables, wires and other transmission conduits or lines, with the exception of the actual EVSE to vehicle plug/ adapter cable, providing connections from the EVSE to the electrical distribution point or to buildings or non-vehicle batteries must be installed underground.” The proposed exterior car charging stations are not visible from the public right of way due to the existing landscaping and topography on site. The Applicant has proposed a panel box location away from any right of way.
