PLANNING OVERVIEW
The petitioner is proposing to repaint the exterior façade and entrance of the building located at 15770 S LaGrange Road.
Site Elevations
All of the proposed changes to Value City Furniture building elevations comply with the design standards set forth in section 6-308 of the Land Development Code.
North
There are no proposed modifications.
East
There are no proposed modifications.
South
The petitioner intends on painting all of the existing masonry a warm gray color, Worldly Gray (SW 7043). In addition the petitioner has proposed to repaint the entrance feature of the building and the underside of the existing canopy to a soft black color, Iron Mountain (2134-30). All existing awnings, windows, sconces, and entrance storefront doors to remain. Modifications to the existing signage are proposed but signage is not a reviewed part of this appearance review, and the petitioner must obtain a separate sign permit for signs for review and approval.
West
There are no proposed modifications.
Landscaping
There are no proposed landscaping changes to the site.
Signage
The existing signage for the building is red and white in color. The petitioner seeks to change "Value City Furniture" lettering and logo while keeping the color consistent with the existing color scheme. This appearance review does not include signage and all signage must be reviewed and approved through the separate sign permit process.
Recommended Action/Motion
The Appearance Review for Value City Furniture, case number 2024-0025, as shown on the exterior elevations, submitted by the petitioner on January 9th, 2024, has been administratively approved on January 12, 2024, subject to the following conditions:
1. A building permit must be obtained from the Village's Building Department prior to initiating work;
2. Meet all Building and Land Development Code requirements at the site.
3. A sign permit is reviewed and approved prior to initiating installation and/or modification of any signage.
