BACKGROUND
On April 20, 2020, the Village Board passed Ordinance 468, which approved a Site Plan, Elevations, Landscape Plan, Subdivision, and Special Use Permit Amendment with Modifications to the Orland Square Commercial Planned Development with 3 buildings, 5 restaurants and 2 drive-through facilities.
On June 21, 2021, the Village Board passed Ordinance 5625, which approved a Special Use Permit amendment to allow 4 buildings and 3 restaurants with 3 drive-through facilities, allow parking in the building setback, and approve a Site Plan, Elevations, Landscape Plan, and the Subdivision for LaGrange Square.
On March 21, 2022, the Village Board passed Ordinance 5701, which approved a Special Use Permit Amendment to develop lot 3b (at 151st Street and LaGrange Road) for the construction of BJ’s Brewhouse and refine the site plan and landscaping plan. It also approved elevation drawings which showed laser-cut metal silhouettes on the north and south facades.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Landscape Plan
The applicant submitted a revised landscape plan to the Village that included additional landscaping on the BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse site. The plan now shows correct plant quantities, substantially more plant material along the building foundations, a new evergreen tree, removal of the stone mulch and its replacement with shredded hardwood mulch.
Recommended Action/Motion
The Appearance Review for BJ’s Restaurant Amended Landscape Plan, as depicted on the attached plan dated 3/28/24, has been administratively approved on 4/1/2024, with the condition that the landscaping is within compliance of the attached plan.
