OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND
The building is considered a Non-Contributing Structure to the Old Orland Historic District per Section 6-209 of the Land Development Code. It was constructed in 2015 after the previous single-family home was demolished. The previous home was situated on two separate lots, which were then consolidated into one lot in 2015 to allow for the construction of the new home. Now, the property consists of a 2-story single family home with a detached garage. Later in 2015, a variance was granted to the property to increase the maximum side yard setback from 15’ to 18.5’.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & CONTEXT
The petitioner is proposing to remove and replace the roof shingles on their single-family home. The proposed shingles will be Hardie Board Shingles in Iron Gray color, the same style and color as the existing shingles for an identical replacement.
Per Section 6-209.G., a change to a roof is considered a minor change, which requires an administrative review of a Certificate of Appropriateness for Non-Contributing Structures in the OOH District.
Overall, the project conforms to the Village’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Codes and policies for this area.
