3/4 Ton 4x4 Replacement Crew Cab Pickup Truck - Bid Award
History
The 2007/08 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item in the amount of $34,000.00 for the purchase of a replacement pickup truck for the Utilities Division of Public Works. The replacement pickup truck will be a 4-wheel drive crew cab pickup equipped with a 7-1/2’ snowplow. This truck will replace a 1995 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab Pickup with 78,400 miles.
Legal notice ran in the Daily SouthtownStar Newspaper on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. In addition, bid packets were sent to five vendors. In return, three bids were received for processing. Sealed bids were opened by the Village Clerk’s Office on Monday, January 7, 2008.
Community Motors of Oak Forest, Illinois, was the lowest qualified bidder for a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4-Wheel Drive Crew Cab Pickup Truck equipped with a 7-1/2’ Fisher Snowplow. Their bid price was $29,483.18 and is $4,516.82 under budget and met all specifications as written.
Although Sutton Ford, Inc. of Matteson, Illinois, submitted a bid price of $28,100.00 for the pickup truck, they did not include the $3,948.00 cost of the snowplow. Therefore, their total cost for the pickup truck and snowplow is $32,048.00.
On February 11, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve awarding the bid for a replacement 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4-Wheel Drive Crew Cab Pickup Truck equipped with a 7-1/2’ Fisher Snowplow for the Utility Division of Public Works to Community Motors of Oak Forest, Illinois, in an amount not to exceed $29,483.18.
