The 2006/07 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item in the amount of $21,000 for the purchase of a replacement 8 Passenger Van for the Recreation Department.
Legal notice ran in the Daily Southtown Newspaper on Thursday, June 14, 2007. In addition, bid packets were sent to five qualified vendors. In return, only two bids were received. Sealed bids were opened by the Village Clerk’s Office on Thursday, June 28, 2007.
Bill Jacobs Joliet LLC of Joliet, Illinois, was the low bidder for a 2008 Chevrolet Express 8 Passenger Van with a bid of $21,274.48 and met the specifications as written.
On July 9, 2007, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Financial Impact
The 2006/07 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item in the amount of $21,000 for this purchase. The cost of the 8 Passenger Van is $21,274.48 ($274.48 over budget). There was a $6,676 cost savings from the purchase of the 15 Passenger Van for the Recreation Department earlier this year (Account #010-5006-431.70-20) that can be used for the purchase of this van.

I move to approve awarding the bid for the purchase of a 2008 Chevrolet Express 8 Passenger Van for the Recreation Department to Bill Jacobs Joliet LLC of Joliet, Illinois, for an amount not to exceed $21,274.48.
