Text Amendment for Electrical and Lawn Sprinkler Fees - Ordinance
History
On December 2, 2024, the Board of Trustees approved an application fee of $95 for all permit applications to recoup some of the costs of initial intake and processing of Building Permit fees. The fee schedule in Section 5-2-7: Building Permit and Inspection Fees was adjusted accordingly to support the application fee amount. Most permits have a grand total fee amount that exceeds $95, requiring the payment of a balance due prior to permit issuance.
On the administrative side of permit processing in our new permit processing software, we apply the $95 to one of the items associated with the specific permit fee type. There are two permit types in which the largest item to which this charge can be applied is $90. Staff is recommending increasing this to $95 so the application fee can be easily applied to electrical and lawn sprinkler permit applications. Please see the attached Exhibit A for details for the following sections:

- Section 5-2-7-10: MISCELLANEOUS FEES
Financial Impact
The administrative process will be less burdensome and the financial impact will be minimal.
