AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9 (TRAFFIC) CHAPTER 15 (ADMINISTRATION ADJUDICATION OF VEHICULAR STANDING, PARKING AND COMPLIANCE VIOLATIONS) SECTIONS 9-15-9-1-SCHEDULE A.
Body
WHEREAS, the Illinois Compiled Statutes, including the Illinois Municipal Code, regulate purchases and contracts entered into by the Village of Orland Park, a home-rule municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Village has recently undertaken a comprehensive review of its fine and penalty structure to ensure that monetary penalties remain effective, equitable, and reflective of current enforcement priorities, and
WHEREAS, the Village’s review has determined that updated fine amounts will promote compliance, deter repeat violations, and better align penalties with the costs incurred by the Village in administering and enforcing its regulations, and
WHEREAS, the Village’s existing Schedule A contained in the Municipal Code must be amended to accurately reflect and mirror the Appendix B, Fine Schedule to incorporate these newly established fines and provide consistency across the Code; and
WHEREAS, the Village finds that amending Schedule A is necessary to maintain transparency and clarity to residents, businesses, and enforcement personnel, ensuring that all penalties are applied consistently and in accordance with the Village’s current standards to uphold the public health, safety, and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
Title 9 (Traffic) Chapter 15 (Administration Adjudication of Vehicular Standing, Parking and Compliance Violations) Sections 9-15-9-1 Schedule A, shall hereby be amended in part (additional language marked by underlining and deletions marked with strikethrough) as reflected and attached hereto as EXHIBIT “A”.
SECTION 2
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as required by law.
