RFP# 26-043 - Traffic Improvement Studies was issued on May 27, 2026, to solicit proposals from qualified and experienced engineering firms to provide professional traffic engineering consulting services for three Traffic Improvement Studies to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety, overall traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance traffic operations. These studies include; Corridor Traffic Study along 159th Street and LaGrange Road, Traffic Signal Progression and Timing Improvements through all 85 traffic signals within Village limits, and Driveway Consolidation Study along 159th Street and LaGrange Road.
The scope of work includes the traffic data collection, coordination with governmental agencies such as Cook County and IDOT, improve signal timings throughout the entire Village, identify traffic improvements and solutions along 159th Street and LaGrange Road, develop driveway consolidation strategies along 159th Street and LaGrange Road, applications for future grant funding, and other professional services as necessary related with this project.
On June 19, 2026, a total of six (6) engineering consulting firms submitted proposals in response to the RFP. Following the initial review of proposals and conducting interviews, staff requested that short listed firms submit revised proposals to address specific scope clarifications. The selection committee's final evaluation was conducted on the basis of these revised proposals.
