History
The 2007/08 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item in the amount of $29,000 for the purchase of a replacement 3/4 Ton Cargo Van for the Utilities Division of the Public Works Department. This van will replace a 2002 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van with 118,000 miles.
Legal notice ran in the Daily SouthtownStar Newspaper on Friday, February 29, 2008. In addition, bid packets were sent to four vendors. In return, three bids were received. Sealed bids were opened by the Village Clerk’s Office on Monday, March 17, 2008.
Community Motors of Oak Forest, Illinois, was the lowest qualified bidder for a 2008 GMC Savana 3/4 Ton Cargo Van. Their bid price of $22,860 is $6,140 under budget and met all specifications as written.
On April 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve awarding the bid for a 2008 GMC Savana 3/4 Ton Cargo Van for the Utility Division of the Public Works Department to Community Motors of Oak Forest, Illinois, at a total cost not to exceed $22,860.
