Title/Name/Summary

License Agreement Village of Orland Park/Illinois American Water Company (IAWC) - Board Approval

History

In August of 2006, the Public Works Department responded to a request from the Illinois American Water Company for permission to install a watermain in the Village’s right-of-way on Will/Cook Road between 159th Street and 167th Street.  On February 23, 2007, IAWC submitted a letter and sketch of the proposed watermain installation. On March 13, 2007, IAWC responded to the Village’s transmittal letter of August 9, 2006, with a proposal letter which was reviewed by the Village Attorney and commented back to IAWC on March 23, 2007.  Subsequent correspondence has lead to a tentative agreement with IAWC pending Board approval.

In the past, IAWC had cooperated with the Village to allow the Village use of their forcemain for the discharge of sanitary waste from our Wedgewood Lift Station.  This agreement calls for IAWC to relocate their watermain, at their own expense if it becomes necessary, should future development interfere with the location of their watermain.  Therefore, it is recommended that the Board of Trustees grant approval of the License Agreement between the Village and IAWC.
