Multiple residents contacted PTAC pertaining to safety concerns for children playing at the Emerald Estates Park and Mallard Landings Park due to excessive speeding on Buck Drive and reckless use of motorbikes. Multiple residents also have concerns about the parked cars that block driveway access to homeowners and full view of traffic.
According to one of the residents, this roadway has become a highway for vehicles that constantly speed, along with teenagers on motorbikes doing stunts, i.e. wheelies, almost on a daily basis. They race from the curve at the end of the block to the other as there is nothing to slow them down. There have been multiple incidents of children nearly being struck by vehicles.
One resident is requesting STOP signs at the intersection of Buck Drive and Deer Run Drive and the east end of Buck Drive by Emerald Estates Park as well as Speed Bumps in the middle of Buck Drive between the Mallard Landings Park and Emerald Estates Park. If a Speed Bump is not an option, the submitter is requesting another Stop sign at the East end of the Buck Drive at Emerald Avenue near Emerald Estates Park.
Another resident is requesting automated speed monitoring and alert system, warning signs and parking restrictions on Buck Drive along Emerald Estates Park.
