Title
Consideration of a Motion Following the Board’s Semi-Annual Review of Certain Executive Session Minutes, Determining Whether the Need for Confidentiality Continues to Exist as to Those Minutes
History
Section 2.06(d) of the Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120/2.06(d), requires the Board to meet at least once every six months to review the minutes of its closed meetings and determine whether the need for confidentiality still exists as to all or part of those minutes. Section 2(c)(21) of the Act allows the Board to conduct that review in executive session. The Board's determination must then be reported in open session.
At the October 19, 2026 meeting, the Board will review the executive session minutes of meetings held from May 2025 through May 2026 while in Executive Session, and will take a formal vote once open session is reconvened.
Village Counsel's recommendation is provided in the memorandum attached to the Board Packet.
