Replacement 15 Passenger Van - Bid Award

History

The 2007/08 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item in the amount of $25,000 for the purchase of a replacement 15 Passenger Van for the Recreation Department.  The van being replaced is a 2000 Chevrolet Express 15 Passenger Van with 72,000 miles.

Legal notice ran in the Daily Southtown Newspaper on Thursday, December 6, 2007.  In addition, bid packets were sent to five qualified vendors.  In return, three bids were received.  Sealed bids were opened by the Village Clerk’s Office on Thursday, December 20, 2007.

Bill Jacobs Joliet LLC of Joliet, Illinois, was the lowest qualified bidder for a 2008 Chevrolet Express 15 Passenger Van ($23,368) and met all specifications as written.  The bid submitted by Sutton Ford of Matteson, Illinois, was $838 lower than Bill Jacobs; however, their bid did not meet specifications as written.

On January 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
