Title
An Ordinance Amending Appendix B to Ordinance No. 6079 - Fourth Amendment
History
The attached ordinance amends Appendix B, which was originally approved by the Board on December 1, 2025. Following discussions regarding increased staffing needs to manage current workload, the proposed code enforcement restructuring plan includes several key staffing and promotion updates. The proposed changes would:
• Removal of the Code Enforcement Supervisor position.
• Promotion of the Code Enforcement Supervisor to a new Code Enforcement Manager (Grade 9, non-union).
Under the oversight of the new Code Enforcement Manager, a newly created Code Enforcement Administrative Assistant position (IUOE) will handle administrative tasks to free up valuable field time. Additionally, the restructuring includes the promotion of two existing Code Enforcement Officers to Senior Code Enforcement Officer (IBEW), creating two vacancies for standard Code Enforcement Officer positions (IBEW). One of these filled vacancies will be dedicated primarily to landscaping review and ensuring compliance with approved landscape plans in close coordination with Development Services
Financial Impact
Marginal additional funds, prorated for the remaining three months of the fiscal year, are reflected in the budget amendment. This funding will cover the net staffing changes as well as necessary startup costs, including IT equipment, office furniture, and other office equipment.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to adopt an Ordinance Amending Appendix B to Ordinance No. 6079 - Fourth Amendment.
