RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
Body
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park (the “Village”) has worked with SERTOMA CENTRE, INC. (“Sertoma”) to develop a three (3) story sixteen (16) unit permanent supportive housing development for very low income families with disabilities located at 14205 Union Avenue in the Village and which development was approved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village on February 5, 2018; and

WHEREAS, included in the planned development (the “Project”) are the following:

Construction of a roadway known as 142nd Street to improve access for emergency vehicles to the site and surrounding area and will connect Union Avenue to Oak Street located to the east of the Project; and
Installation of new public sidewalks, landscape improvements, new street lighting along Union Avenue, and new street lighting along the proposed 142nd Street; and

WHEREAS, the total Project cost is estimated to be $423,969.00, with $301,962 requested from the Cook County Department of Planning and Development and the remaining $122,007 from Sertoma using the Illinois Affordable Housing Trust Fund; and

WHEREAS, the Village has been requested by Sertoma to approve and submit an application for a Community Development Block Grant Capital Improvement grant in the amount of $301, 962.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:

SECTION 1

The above recitals are incorporated herein as fully set forth in this Resolution.

SECTION 2

Request is hereby made to Cook County, Illinois for Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) funds for Program Year 2020 in the amount of $301,962 for the Project as follows: Project:
New 142nd Street, Sidewalk and Lighting, as more fully described above, and as identified in the Village’s CDBG 2020 Program Year.
