AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A BOUNDARY AGREEMENT WITH THE VILLAGE OF MOKENA

WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, along with the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mokena, believe that it would be in the best interests of both Villages and their respective residents to agree upon a common boundary or boundaries between the Villages in order to manage future growth in an orderly fashion, and to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
The Village President and Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the Village, an INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE PLANNING AND BOUNDARY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK AND THE VILLAGE OF MOKENA, in a form substantially as that attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A, and to take such further action as is necessary to fulfill the terms of said Agreement.
SECTION 2
That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
