Olde Mill Subdivision - Contract Extension for Landscape Services
History
In 2020, the Village initiated the subject project to resolve longstanding landscaping deficiencies in the Olde Mill subdivision dating back to 2004 (refer to Legistar item 2020-0160). The original developer provided cash in-lieu of a letter of credit and the Board subsequently approved a proposal by Semper Fi Land Services, Inc. (Semper Fi) as part of RFP 20-003 for monitoring and management for landscape restoration in Olde Mill.
As the Board may be aware, bringing naturalized areas into compliance with industry accepted standards takes time and effort over multiple consecutive years. Semper Fi has made considerable progress since 2020, however, staff believe additional effort is needed in Spring 2024 to complete the project.
Anticipated work this Spring includes a prescribed vegetation burn, weeding, and overseeding of selective areas.
Financial Impact
The Village is paying Semper Fi from escrow account number 100-223500, which contains the cash in-lieu of letter of credit funds from the original developer.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve a one-year contract extension to Semper Fi Land Services, Inc. for landscaping management and monitoring in the Olde Mill subdivision;
AND
Authorize the Village Manager to execute all related contracts, subject to Village attorney review.
